About The Position

This position is for a School Behavioral Technician Trainee at BAYADA Home Health Care, focusing on supporting children with Autism to reach their fullest potential. The role involves working 1:1 with children and young adults diagnosed with Autism in Hawaii Island School Districts. BAYADA will provide training and extensive supervision for those interested in pursuing their Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) credential, which is required for ABA or insurance-based contracts in Hawaii. Requirements

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT ) Certified or the desire to pursue certification (Training provided by BAYADA)
Be at least 18 years of age
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR passage of the ParaPro Praxis Assessment (BAYADA assistance available)

Nice To Haves

Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan
Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams
Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families
Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
Document interventions and progress towards goals
Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine
Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
