Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
  • Current Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Eligible for Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist Licensure
  • Eligible to participate in the ASHA Clinical Fellowship (CF) Program
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, student-centered services
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
  • FBI Criminal History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania Arrest/ Conviction Report (Act 24)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous school-based experience
  • Experience working with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and other complex communication disorders
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania Special Education regulations, IDEA, and IEP processes

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group speech-language therapy services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Monitor student progress and modify treatment strategies as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized and informal assessments
  • Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports
  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and reevaluations
  • Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Develop measurable communication goals and objectives
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations
  • Complete required documentation within established timelines
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers
  • Provide consultation regarding speech and language development
  • Educate families regarding speech and language development
  • Contribute to a positive, student- centered educational environment
  • Maintain current licensure and required certifications
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development
  • Adhere to ASHA’s Code of Ethics and Pennsylvania professional standards
  • Deliver services that reflect best practices in speech-language pathology
