Requirements

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders
  • Active Washington State Speech-Language Pathologist (DOH) license and Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certification
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or qualifying clinical fellowship status
  • Successful completion of required background checks and applicable state/district employment requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Previous school-based experience preferred
  • Out-of-state candidates must meet applicable reciprocity or temporary credential requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech, language, fluency, voice, and social-communication evaluations and provide individualized or small-group therapy for K–12 students.
  • Develop and monitor communication goals, maintain accurate service documentation, and contribute to IEPs and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Evaluate and support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and other communication tools for students with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate communication strategies into the classroom and support student success.
