About The Position

Verbal Behavior Associates (VBA) is hiring Behavior Technicians to provide applied behavior analysis therapy to children in schools throughout San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, and San Clemente. Technicians work one-to-one with students with special needs, implementing behavior plans developed by BCBAs and helping students build communication, self-help, social, and play skills. The role includes tracking student progress through data collection and clinical notes, as well as ongoing training and mentoring. Part-time and full-time schedules are available; full-time begins at 30 hours per week. Hours are typically 7:30 AM–3:30 PM on school days. Pay is $20.00–$27.00 per hour, with paid drive time and mileage between sessions. Training and shadowing toward Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) certification are paid for by VBA, with direct BCBA support; non-billable time, including training, is paid at the prevailing minimum wage. The company provides hands-on, in-person training and ongoing mentoring and development.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
Availability at least three weekdays, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM.
If hired, ability to pass a Live Scan background check and TB test, and provide proof of MMR and TDap vaccination.

Nice To Haves

Some college preferred.
Experience working with children and/or people with disabilities is desirable but not required.
Experienced RBTs and people new to the field are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Work one-to-one with children with special needs to build communication, self-help, social, and play skills.
Implement behavior plans designed by BCBAs, adapting techniques to each student's needs.

Attend ongoing training to develop skills and advance an ABA career.
