School Based Behavior Technician
About The Position
AAPSA is hiring a part-time behavior technician to work directly with a child on the autism spectrum in a school setting in Cortland. The role involves implementing treatment plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to support the child’s independence in communication, social skills, and daily living. The position is hourly, with hours based on a typical school day. Training and supervision in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including nationally recognized Registered Behavior Technician training, are provided. The role offers a learning opportunity for people interested in careers in education, psychology, human services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, and speech/language therapy. A letter of recommendation may be provided for applications to undergraduate and graduate programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Reliable means of transportation.
- Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required; certification training will be provided to the right candidate if not already held.
