School Aide - Part Time
About The Position
The School Aide supports teachers, students, and administrative staff to help ensure smooth daily operations in a school setting. Working under the direct supervision of the principal, the aide provides campus support, assists with routine projects and materials, supervises students during school activities, and may help reinforce learning with individual students or small groups. The role also supports student drop-off and pick-up through Driveline and may assist with educational computer programs. The aide is expected to maintain student confidentiality and help create a safe, supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to interact positively with students and professionally with parents.
- Ability to create a safe learning environment conducive to learning.
- Ability to identify individual student needs.
- Good communication skills with students, coworkers, administration, and parents.
- Ability to collaborate with school staff.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must pass a criminal history background check; applicable fingerprint clearance or background check requirements vary by state.
Responsibilities
- Provide campus support under the direct supervision of the principal.
- Assist with making copies, delivering materials, and other projects as needed.
- Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods, and field trips.
- Assist with student drop-off and pick-up through Driveline, possibly during inclement weather.
- Maintain ethical conduct and confidentiality regarding student information.
- Alert the regular teacher to problems or special information about individual students.
- May assist staff and students with educational computer programs.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor that do not require professional skills.
- May work periodically with individual students or small groups to reinforce material or skills introduced by the teacher.
