About The Position

The School Aged Child Care, Lead Staff position at the Kids Club (Boys & Girls Club of Worcester) is a part-time, year-round role responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a broad range of programs for youth aged 5 to 13. This role requires compliance with EEC regulations and reliable transportation. The operating hours are Monday - Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, excluding school vacation weeks and summer break. This is an excellent entry-level position for a motivated individual interested in working with youth. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Worcester serves over 500 kids daily and is committed to providing an enriched environment that meets the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of each child. As a non-profit organization and one of the largest youth development agencies in Central Massachusetts, we aim to make a positive impact in the community.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (per EEC regulations).
  • Must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:
  • - Bachelor's degree or an associate degree; and have three months of experience working with school-age children.
  • - High school diploma or equivalent; and have six months of experience working with school-age children including three months of supervised experience at a school-age childcare program.
  • - Nine months of experience with school-age children including three months of supervised experience at a school-age childcare program.
  • Confidence in providing academic support, as needed, to members.
  • Competency in navigating remote learning tools, technology equipment and modes of instruction.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Communication skills: Informing, Listening, Writing.
  • Group leadership skills including an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • All applicants will be required to pass a criminal offender record information check (CORI), a national background check and will need to be fingerprinted in accordance with EEC regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish & English).

Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementation, and evaluation of a broad range of programs for youth between the age of 5 and 13.
  • Complying with EEC regulations.
  • Overseeing special programs and/or events and/or participating in the implementation of other Clubhouse activities as necessary.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Consulting with parents concerning member and Clubhouse issues.
  • Performing light cleaning and assuming other duties as assigned.
  • Consistently working on your feet for up to 3 hours at a time and being physically active.
