About The Position

Growing Room is hiring a School-Age Assistant Teacher to provide care and education in its schools. The role includes supervising school-age children, transporting children to and/or from school by bus, helping with homework, and supporting other age groups by covering teacher lunch breaks during the school year. The assistant teacher helps the Lead Teacher implement age-appropriate curriculum, follows state childcare licensing regulations, and builds positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers. The role also supports children's self-help skills and a fun, loving classroom environment. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Growing Room describes its culture as built around educational excellence, safety and security, innovation, passion, trust, and family, and offers opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision and care to school-age children.
Drive a bus to transport children to and/or from school.
Help children with homework.
Work in other age groups to provide teachers with lunch breaks during the school year.
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum for children.
Follow state childcare licensing regulations.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers.
Help children develop self-help skills.
