About The Position

The School Age Lead Teacher is responsible for general classroom management and supervision, including children’s personal care, hygiene, and positive discipline. The teacher prepares and implements activities that support children’s physical, social, and emotional growth, and provides materials and resources for children to explore and use during learning activities and active play.

Requirements

• Meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position.
• Have a pleasant, friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.
• Be highly professional and dependable.
• Be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
• Be able to lift at least 40 pounds consistently throughout the workday to at least waist height.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the classroom’s appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment.
• Complete academy and classroom paperwork, including daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
• Help and supervise children during all activities.
• Counsel children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise.
• Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
• Develop, plan, and prepare instructional aids and materials for classroom activities.
• Help children with mealtimes and cleanup.
• Ensure classroom and outdoor equipment is in good working condition and properly used and maintained.
• Arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
• Direct the activities of other classroom staff to help ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner.
• Communicate appropriate information to parents and maintain developmental profiles for children.
• Schedule and conduct parent/teacher conferences throughout the year.
• Maintain the family information board and other classroom bulletin boards.
• Ensure the classroom medication schedule is followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
