About The Position
The School Age Child Care Assistant supports a before- or after-school daycare program, helping children learn and participate in activities in a fun, diverse environment. The role assists the site director with day-to-day program functions and supports children with activities, snack time, and homework. The YMCA offers team support and opportunities to learn and grow.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children.
- High school diploma or some college credits.
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a child care setting.
- Passion for working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
- Ability to pass all relevant clearances.
Responsibilities
- Find new and engaging ways to help children learn.
- Be patient and kind with parents.
- Assist the site director with the day-to-day functions of a before- or after-school daycare program.
- Help children through activities, snack time, homework, and related tasks.
