About The Position

The Scheduling/Referral Coordinator Specialist coordinates a provider’s surgery and clinic schedules. This clerical role serves as a first-line representative to hospitals and surgery centers and schedules appointments and operative procedures. The position works as a member of the clinic team. The role is based at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital in Yakima, Washington. The schedule is 1.0 FTE, weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The posted pay scale is $22.34–$32.14 USD. Responsibilities

Coordinate appointment and surgical-procedure scheduling accurately, recognizing its importance to patient care.
Verify insurance benefits.
Obtain insurance pre-certification and authorization as required.
Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, including pre-operative, pre-admission, and post-operative appointments.
Schedule provider meetings, including attorney and vendor meetings.
Maintain, coordinate, and adjust the provider’s clinic schedule to accommodate surgical cases, continuing medical education, vacation, court appearances, attorney depositions, and other meetings, using Epic and MS Outlook.
