About The Position

National Jewish Health is seeking Scheduling Customer Service Representatives to join their Patient Access team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and involves scheduling appointments, maintaining patient information, and collaborating with clinic staff and other health professionals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, quality-focused, and passionate about providing excellent customer service with kindness and compassion in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year customer service experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • One year patient scheduling or health care call center experience preferred.
  • Bilingual speaking Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and make outbound calls to schedule appointments for physician and ancillary services.
  • Maintain communication with patients and clinical staff to ensure a successful patient experience.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, co-workers, physicians, and clinical staff.
  • Schedule new patient appointments for physicians and ancillary departments accurately.
  • Collect and update patient demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
  • Update computer systems with patient demographic, insurance, and appointment information.
  • Ensure appropriate clinic has accurate patient information regarding the nature, severity, and duration of concern.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointment status.
  • Monitor patient schedules for continuity and prerequisite appointments.
  • Communicate with Admissions, Financial Counseling, and Utilization Management as needed.
  • Communicate with clinicians to ensure accurate patient appointment scheduling.
  • Maintain knowledge of NJH clinical operations, insurance procedures, and clinical terminology.
  • Maintain expertise with Registration systems, Scheduling system, Passport, and Electronic Medical Record system.
