About The Position

The Scheduling Coordinator supports a hospital sleep medicine program in Asheville, North Carolina, serving as a first point of contact for patients and helping keep patients, providers, and clinic staff connected. The role schedules and manages appointments for consultations, sleep studies, follow-ups, and home sleep tests; supports patient registration and check-in/check-out; and maintains accurate communications and documentation in the electronic health record. The position is a three-month contract through Clean2TheKore, LLC, with the possibility of permanent hospital employment based on performance.

Requirements

• At least one year of customer service or healthcare experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Comfort using computers, phones, and scheduling software.
• Calm, clear communication, including on busy days.
• Provide shot records or complete a simple blood test, and complete a TB test; the hospital assists with completing these after clearance.
• Pass a background check and drug screen before starting.

Nice To Haves

• Medical office, scheduling, or registration experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Cerner, Power Chart, or Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments for consultations, sleep studies, follow-ups, and home sleep tests.
• Answer incoming calls, greet patients, and provide basic information about the practice.
• Register patients and check them in and out, confirming demographics, verifying insurance, and completing consents.
• Send accurate messages to providers and clinical staff in the electronic health record.
• Coordinate with the authorization team to ensure sleep studies are approved before they are scheduled.
• Process medical record requests and maintain accurate documentation.
• Fill open and same-day appointment slots and keep the schedule running smoothly.
