About The Position

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Scheduler/Timekeeper to join their dynamic Collections Operations East team in Dartmouth. The Collections Operations East team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manager to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and creating work schedules and completing associated scheduling and timekeeping functions that meet operational needs. These functions will be performed in accordance with Canadian Blood Services policies.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
  • Minimum three years (3) of scheduling experience in related position, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Strong computer skills using Word and Excel, and a strong working knowledge of personal computers with a preference given to experience with a Windows operating system and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information with a high degree of deductive reasoning.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of employee information is critical.
  • Accuracy with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Testing on Excel skills may be conducted.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and plan staffing requirements in consultation with Manager/Supervisor to meet operational needs.
  • Prepare/create/revise work schedules according to Collective Agreement requirements.
  • Responsible for replacing staff sick calls and creating and maintaining department-specific vacation calendars.
  • Performs timekeeping/payroll functions for all Supply Chain employees.
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • Performs other activities as required.
