About The Position

The Scheduler II develops and maintains detailed production schedules that align customer demand with manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory objectives. The role coordinates planning across Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Customer Service to support efficient, cost-effective production and on-time delivery. It uses analytical tools and ERP systems to manage short- and medium-term schedules, monitor resource utilization, and adjust plans as priorities change. The position also supports continuous improvement in scheduling accuracy, downtime reduction, and material and labor utilization, while emphasizing safety, teamwork, quality, collaboration, integrity, and operational excellence.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Manufacturing experience in the thermoplastics industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and material availability.
Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customer Service to align manufacturing plans with customer delivery requirements.
Adjust schedules in response to changing priorities, equipment downtime, material delays, or customer order changes.
Monitor production performance against schedules, identify variances, and work with operations teams on corrective actions.
Synchronize production schedules with material replenishment and inventory plans to optimize resource utilization.
Confirm raw material availability with Procurement and coordinate finished goods shipment priorities with Distribution.
Maintain schedule accuracy in the ERP system, updating work orders, priorities, and completion statuses.
Analyze capacity and constraints, identify bottlenecks or imbalances, and develop mitigation plans to maintain service levels.
Support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) with production data, scheduling insights, and performance feedback.
Review demand forecasts and historical data to balance production workloads and minimize changeovers and downtime.
Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and metrics to production supervisors, planners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Coordinate with Quality and Engineering on product trials, new product introductions, and process improvements within the production schedule.
Support continuous improvement in production planning, efficiency, and lead time reduction.
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with Operations and Maintenance to avoid disrupting production goals.
Track and report scheduling metrics, including schedule adherence, on-time completion, and lead time accuracy.
Participate in capacity planning studies and recommend ways to balance workload across lines or facilities.
Help standardize scheduling processes, tools, and communication protocols across sites.
Identify opportunities to automate and improve scheduling in ERP and planning systems.
Generate reports and data visualizations on capacity utilization, production performance, and supply chain impact for management.
Prepare alternative schedules or recovery plans for unplanned disruptions.
Maintain scheduling procedures, capacity data, and workflow documentation for standardization and audit compliance.
Collaborate across departments to communicate schedule priorities, constraints, and production goals.
Ensure scheduling activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement aligned with Plaskolite’s “One Plaskolite” philosophy.
