About The Position

Perform work involving the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, operation of heavy equipment, rigging equipment loads, and completion of various construction projects. The position includes reading blueprints and specifications, preparing materials, and constructing, reinforcing, and dismantling scaffolds and related structures.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, a fit-for-duty medical assessment, and a background check.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl while moving about a construction or industrial site.
• Ability to work in changing outdoor weather conditions and in noisy, dusty environments.
• Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; may need to use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolds to access work areas, potentially at heights exceeding 200 feet.
• Ability to move and work in and around confined and cluttered spaces and on uneven surfaces.
• May be required or able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations and quantities and sizes of required materials.
• Identify tools required for tasks; measure, mark, and cut wooden or metallic materials to specifications.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures, and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Build wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform rigging of equipment loads.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
