About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Scaffold Builder for a position in Decatur, Alabama. The role assembles, positions, modifies, and dismantles scaffolding according to job specifications. It is a non-exempt position reporting to a Frontline Supervisor (Leadman or foreman). Duties are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• One to four years of experience in the specified skill, depending on mechanic level.
• Ability to operate different types of forklifts.
• Complete a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the company's Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read engineered drawings.
• National Certification; may be required by the client.

Responsibilities

• Inspect surfaces for holes, objects, and levelness.
• Assemble scaffolds consisting of guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens, and/or wheels.
• Position scaffolds by rolling them into place or erecting them in place.
• Secure scaffolds to permanent structures when required.
• Assemble other structures as needed, which may include hard barricades, strong backs, engineered scaffolds, and stairways.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
