About The Position

Industrial Scaffold Builders assist with the construction, dismantling, and repair of wooden and metal scaffolds and auxiliary structures related to scaffolding. The role also includes miscellaneous construction work, such as building decks, steps, bulletin boards, and other wooden structures. Scaffold Builders may assist other crafts when scaffold work is not active and must follow safety rules and regulations, meet physical requirements, have the required tools, and maintain reliable transportation.

Requirements

• Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must be able and willing to follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must have all required tools.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must hold NCCER – Industrial Scaffold Builder certification.

Nice To Haves

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
• Formal or technical education.
• Experience working with scaffolding, insulation, and painting.

Responsibilities

• Identify all tools required for assigned tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions needed to eliminate those risks.
• Measure, mark, and cut wooden and metallic materials to specifications.
• Assist with constructing, reinforcing, and dismantling pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Assist with building wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform miscellaneous construction projects, including building decks, steps, bulletin boards, and other wooden structures.
• Clean up work areas.
• Assist other crafts when not actively working on scaffolding.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
