2nd Shift Saw Operator $17-$23 Depending on Experience
About The Position
The 2nd Shift Saw Operator performs a variety of operational functions including the production, inspection, and distribution of products. This role involves assisting with material flow, evaluating non-conforming parts, and working collaboratively in fabrication and finishing areas. The operator will also be responsible for checking blueprint drawings, setting up machinery, monitoring operations to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met, and modifying programs as needed. Additionally, the role requires operating saws, identifying parts by size and symbol, visually inspecting cut parts for defects, maintaining counts, and making adjustments to robotic processes. A forklift license is required for this position.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain housekeeping in the work cell.
- Assist in material flow for the Spinning and other departments.
- Evaluate non-conforming parts to determine downgrading or scrapping.
- Work as a team member in both Fabrication and Finishing areas.
- Work overtime when needed.
- Use hand tools and complete written reports.
- Understand and follow work instructions.
- Check blueprint drawings or job orders for product specifications (dimensions, tolerances) and tooling instructions (fixtures, feed rates).
- Determine the sequence of operations.
- Set up fixtures or feeding devices, start machines, and initiate spin cycles.
- Observe machine operations and verify conformance of workpieces to design specifications and quality standards.
- Modify programs using a Windows-based environment to manufacture per product specifications.
- Verify programs before release for production.
- Set up, program, and operate computer-programmed machines and robotics.
- Direct the flow and temperature of the torch to the workpiece.
- Operate saws and identify billet cups by size and symbol.
- Visually inspect all cut parts for defects (e.g., dents, nicks, scratches, off-square cuts) and maintain counts on cut parts.
- Make adjustments to robots to maintain a smooth flow of processes and products.
- Obtain and maintain a forklift license.
- Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
