About The Position

The Saw Filer works with the filing team to support the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of filing and production operations. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting saws, knives, guides, and filing equipment, as well as performing machine alignment and preventive maintenance. Flexibility is required, as additional duties may be assigned beyond those listed. The Saw Filer reports to the Saw Shop Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to operate and understand precision measuring and grinding equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recognize unsafe conditions.
• Inspect, sharpen, and assist in replacing saws and knives.
• Safely file and maintain band saws, circle saws, chipper knives, and saw guides.
• Perform machine alignment, maintain saw filing equipment, and carry out preventive maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoot knife, circle saw, band saw, and guide problems.
• Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as required.
