About The Position
Akelius is looking for a customer service-oriented lifeguard with strong interpersonal skills to join the facility management team in Montreal. The ideal candidate will provide a safe and adequate environment for tenants. This is a summer employment opportunity.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate in French and English for interactions with French-speaking and English-speaking residents
- Hold one of the following certifications: National Lifeguard - Pool Option, Professional Lifeguard, Aquatic Safety and Lifesaving Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor
- Excellent communication skills - able to interact with tenants, be positive, and remain professional
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Nice To Haves
- Possess the "Learn to Swim" Instructor certificate from the Lifesaving Society
Responsibilities
- Perform constant surveillance of the pool area
- Monitor and ensure the safety of swimmers
- Assist swimmers in distress and administer first aid if necessary
- Participate in the weekly maintenance of the pool and the tidiness of aquatic facilities and equipment
- Ensure the maintenance of water quality in the basin
- Take samples for microbiological analysis
- Interact with all tenants and guests in a pleasant and professional manner
- Report any issues to Akelius administration
- Other assigned tasks
