About The Position

Responsible for the clinical and technical operation of the Berkshire Health Systems Satellite Laboratories. The role allocates resources efficiently, assists in developing and maintaining operating budgets, develops and oversees policies and procedures, and directs staff engagement and development activities. It ensures applicable laws and regulations are maintained and works with the laboratory management team to ensure all areas of the laboratory are managed appropriately. In collaboration with laboratory management, the position develops long- and short-range plans for strategic business growth, expansion, and diversification that support the strategic plan and ambulatory services operational plans.

Requirements

• Five years of recent laboratory experience.
• Three years of experience in a management role.
• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry.
• ASCP-certified medical technologist/clinical laboratory scientist through ASCP or NCA, or a CLIA-approved equivalent.
• Highly flexible and able to work under stressful situations.
• Ability to work effectively with management and staff to address, resolve, and improve relationships to satisfy customer expectations.
• Knowledge of HIS/LIS.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, FDA, CAP, and CLIA regulations as they apply to Laboratory Medicine.
