About The Position

AJ Tutoring is seeking passionate and energetic SAT tutors to join their professional 1-on-1 tutoring team in the Bay Area. The role involves meeting students in person at AJ Tutoring's offices. Tutors are expected to be experts in their subject matter, conscientious, punctual, reliable, and excellent communicators. The company emphasizes a team-oriented and coachable approach. AJ Tutoring has been providing outstanding tutoring experiences since 2005 and has a strong reputation in the Bay Area communities they serve.

Requirements

• Have a 4-year college degree.
• Master the SAT/ACT or an academic subject at the high school AP level (Pre-Calculus or Calculus, Physics, Computer Science, English, History, Biology, or Chemistry).
• Be bright, energetic, and eager to meet students in person.
• Be conscientious, punctual, reliable, and on top of organizational tasks.
• Be excellent at communicating with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Be proactive and efficient in your work.
• Be team-oriented and coachable.

Nice To Haves

• Passionate about education.
• Experienced in working with students.
• Background in education, coaching, youth leadership, camp counseling, mentoring, or the performing arts.
• Exploring a long-term career path in education.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in SAT/ACT or academic subjects at the high school AP level.
• Commit to a minimum of 15 tutoring hours per week.
• Complete a few additional hours of administrative work per week.
• Tutor during after-school hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Work at AJ Tutoring through the end of the school year (June 2027).
