About The Position

Clarkston Consulting is seeking a motivated, self-driven SAP FICO Solution Architect to deliver business solutions to clients in the life sciences, consumer products, and retail industries. The role leads the design, architecture, and deployment of SAP solutions in the Finance & Controlling area, working with clients and consultants to address business challenges through industry expertise, business process knowledge, and consulting excellence.

The position involves gathering business outcomes and requirements, documenting end-to-end processes, configuring SAP FICO solutions, and managing integrations with other modules. The architect also guides teams and client personnel, supports client engagements and proposals, and provides technical support and training. Travel is estimated to average 30–50%, depending on client and project needs. When not traveling or at a client site, consultants work from their home office; relocation is not required.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience and deep expertise in SAP FICO.
• At least 3 full-life-cycle projects.
• Expertise in SAP solution design and development.
• Excellent knowledge of Finance business processes.
• Team-lead experience.
• Flexibility and adaptability, including ability to work across design and hands-on configuration and stretch into new roles.
• Thorough client-services orientation and experience taking an active role in executing engagements and project plans or tasks.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to present and write at publication-quality level to communicate findings and recommendations.
• A four-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of SAP solutions within the SAP FICO area.
• Facilitate business process reviews to gather expected business outcomes and functional requirements, and document end-to-end processes and business requirements.
• Design and develop SAP FICO functions, including configuration to meet client business requirements and integration points with other modules.
• Identify opportunities to improve clients’ competitive advantage using industry experience and leading practices.
• Provide opinions and advice on industry trends and issues and their impact on clients.
• Lead and guide consultants and client personnel implementing SAP FICO.
• Lead analysis and design sessions to create requirements for client solutions.
• Manage and oversee the design and development of customized reports.
• Provide general technical support to clients and conduct training as required.
• Assist with scoping prospective engagements and developing proposals.
