About The Position

Accenture Federal Services is seeking an SAP Cutover Lead for a large-scale, complex SAP S/4HANA implementation for a Department of War (DoW) client. The role works closely with the Deployment Lead to plan, coordinate, and oversee the transition from legacy systems to a greenfield SAP S/4HANA production environment. The Cutover Lead develops and executes a comprehensive cutover strategy, helping ensure technical and business processes migrate efficiently with minimal disruption. The role monitors progress, provides status updates, and implements contingency plans to support a successful go-live. This is a techno-functional advisory and highly client-facing position that bridges technical teams and client stakeholders. The successful candidate translates solution complexities into strategic business decisions, navigates ambiguity and shifting DoW priorities, and builds strong cross-functional relationships. The role does not require hands-on BASIS administration or SAP functional configuration expertise, but does require technical fluency and systems implementation experience.

Requirements

At least 7 years of hands-on experience with SAP deployment lifecycles.
Understanding of SAP BASIS concepts, including transports, client copies, and system connectivity; configuration is not required.
Understanding of AWS cloud environments, including infrastructure readiness and backup/restore concepts; configuration is not required.
Experience with SAP Activate methodology and the SAP application lifecycle.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams—including functional consultants, developers, legacy system owners, and business users—to build and execute integrated cutover plans.
Demonstrated ability to adjust strategies in response to changing client priorities, resource constraints, or technical dependencies.
U.S. citizenship required.
Active Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities

Act as a trusted adviser to DoW clients, translating technical concepts into clear business impacts.
Help clients make decisions in ambiguous, fast-changing deployment environments.
Collaborate with functional, development, data migration, and infrastructure teams to define deployment and cutover strategy.
Facilitate cross-functional workshops to map end-to-end dependencies and build the master runbook.
Adapt the cutover schedule and strategy to client priorities, regulatory changes, and leadership decisions.
Oversee cutover simulations (dry runs), managing stakeholder communication and alignment.
Develop and refine project documentation to inform deployment execution across a complex delivery ecosystem.
Facilitate daily stand-ups and command center operations during go-live, coordinating teams to resolve functional and technical blockers.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee transition from client legacy systems to the SAP S/4HANA production environment.
Monitor cutover progress, provide status updates, and implement contingency plans.
