About The Position

The SAP Transportation Management / Logistics Execution consultant is responsible for hands-on functional design, configuration, integration, implementation, enhancement, and Tier 3 support of transportation and logistics capabilities across SAP Transportation Management (TM), SAP Logistics Execution (LE), SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and connected non-SAP transportation platforms. The role primarily focuses on solution delivery while providing Tier 3 functional support for SAP TM and LE, requiring an understanding of how order management, delivery processing, shipment execution, transportation planning, freight settlement, carrier invoicing, and financial integration relate to one another. The consultant partners with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Architecture, Integration, Development, and external implementation teams to turn business requirements into scalable, supportable solutions. The consultant serves as a senior functional subject-matter expert for SAP TM, SAP LE, and transportation processes. Work includes configuring and supporting inbound, outbound, and intercompany transportation; transportation planning and execution; freight settlement and invoicing; SAP logistics integration; output determination; and integrations with SAP modules and external transportation platforms. The role supports truckload, less-than-truckload, parcel, ocean, rail, and air transportation scenarios. The position leads or executes implementations, rollouts, enhancements, upgrades, testing, deployment, go-live, stabilization, and transition to support. It also serves as a Level 3 escalation point for complex production issues, performs root-cause analysis across SAP and connected systems, and provides after-hours escalation support and on-call coverage for critical batch processing when required. The consultant works with business and technical teams to improve processes, documentation, controls, reliability, and use of standard SAP functionality. The work is remote, with 10–15% travel and additional travel as needed for key project milestones. The role may require extended periods stationary while using standard computer equipment.
