This role is for a Sanitation Technician in Dayton, OH, working the 1st shift. The position involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas following established schedules and procedures. Team members must be safety-conscious and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include various cleaning tasks, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring compliance with company and customer regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
  • 2 years in industrial cleaning desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas following master cleaning schedules and procedures, including washing down, shoveling, de-junking, vacuuming, and sweeping.
  • Assist in formulating sanitation standards and work procedures, and provide feedback on service delivery discrepancies.
  • Operate skid steer loaders, scissors lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and hand/power tools.
  • Communicate effectively with team lead, supervisor, and customer to accomplish tasks and build customer relations.
  • Maintain adherence to the published work schedule and be available for overtime as required.
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, and scaffolding, utilizing fall protection equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor regarding work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints.
  • Work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, as demanded by the job.
  • Perform other work as defined by the company and/or customer.
  • Clean process screens with a concentrated solution daily (CC- Caustic Cleaners).
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
  • Communicate with all team members to assist in short- and long-range planning to support company goals.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
