Sanitation Technician - 1st Shift

About The Position

The Sanitation Technician is a member of the manufacturing department, responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production and facility areas while following plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ensuring the work area is secure and safe. Duties include cleaning touch points, floors, restrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and production areas; managing refuse and trash; and replenishing sanitation and protective supplies. The role requires completing daily and weekly checklists and duty lists, working safely, and performing other tasks assigned by a supervisor. The technician communicates with employees throughout the plant. A trained sanitation employee or laborer backs up the position during absences. The work involves frequent physical activity, including turning and bending, twisting at the waist, squatting or kneeling, grasping bottles, reaching with both arms, standing for up to eight hours during a shift excluding breaks and lunch, and lifting up to 25 pounds. A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous sanitation experience is preferred. Requirements

Responsibilities

Wipe down touch points, including door handles, stair rails, doorways, walls, control levers and knobs, countertops and surfaces, stainless steel covers, and floors.
Pick up contaminants and garbage from floors.
Sanitize restrooms.
Check and refill hand sanitizer dispensers, hair nets, beard nets, and ear protectors.
Empty trash cans, insert new liners, and wash trash cans.
Remove refuse from the production area.
Follow plant GMPs and ensure the work area is secure and safe for assigned tasks.
Complete daily and weekly checklists and duty lists.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and lunchrooms.
Vacuum and dust the main offices.
Work safely and perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Communicate effectively with employees throughout the plant.
