About The Position

The Sanitation Tech 1 is an entry-level position responsible for routine cleaning and sanitation of production and support areas to help ensure a safe and hygienic food manufacturing environment. The role follows established procedures and sanitation schedules to meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Through teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and sanitation procedures, the Sanitation Tech 1 helps maintain a clean facility.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn and operate all required equipment.
• Ability to work variable hours.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts and stand, kneel, climb, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive gripping, pinching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, with weight ranges up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform repeated twisting, bending, and reaching with the upper and lower extremities.
• Ability to work in hot and/or humid environments, at heights up to 30 feet, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
• Strong work ethic and dependability.

Nice To Haves

• 0–2 years of sanitation or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, floors, walls, and tools according to SSOPs.
• Follow daily sanitation schedules and verify completed tasks with digital or written documentation.
• Handle and store sanitation chemicals safely according to SDS requirements.
• Empty trash, maintain housekeeping, and assist with minor maintenance as assigned.
• Follow cGMPs, HACCP, and GFSI sanitation standards.
• Immediately report food safety or safety issues to supervision.
• Support completion and documentation of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Maintain cleaning tools and report damaged or missing items.
• Adhere to EHS and PPE requirements.
