About The Position

Palmer Candy is hiring a first-shift Sanitation Team Member at its Hwy 75 facility. The role sanitizes facilities, machines, and production equipment to help ensure products are made safely, securely, and to the quality and sanitation specifications outlined by company managers. The schedule is Monday through Friday: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday shifts varying from 6 to 10 hours. Saturday work may be scheduled based on business needs. Plant management will notify team members of schedule changes outside the listed hours. The position involves using sanitation equipment and tools; safely preparing sanitation supplies and chemicals; cleaning and sanitizing manufacturing areas and packaging equipment, including regular and allergen washes; checking equipment for compliance with health and safety regulations; and managing recycling and waste removal. Other tasks include light painting or construction projects, simple maintenance, and learning to use pallet jacks or forklifts. Regular, timely attendance and appropriate conduct are required. The work may involve minor burns or cuts, lifting, prolonged standing, climbing ladders, working above shoulder level, repetitive motion, continual hand use, and continual lifting, pushing, or pulling. Prior sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Sanitize facilities, machines, and production equipment to support safe, secure, and sanitary production that meets company specifications.
Operate sanitation equipment and tools.
