As the Sanitation Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting food safety, sanitation excellence, and quality standards at the Bluffton facility. You will help lead sanitation activities across shifts, standardize cleaning practices, support certification requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen plant performance and product quality.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments.
  • Ability to initiate and implement process improvements with limited resources.
  • Strong understanding of biological, chemical, and physical hazards in a production environment.
  • Good problem-solving, corrective action, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • 3+ years of prior experience.

Nice To Haves

  • SQF Practitioner certification.
  • HACCP certification.
  • PCQI certification.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, ERP implementation, or quality process integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and improve sanitation programs and cleaning processes across the facility.
  • Supervise sanitation team members across multiple shifts while fostering a strong culture of safety and food safety.
  • Support food safety, quality, SQF, FSMA, Organic, and Gluten-Free certification requirements.
  • Monitor and verify sanitation activities to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sanitation performance and operational efficiency.
  • Train and develop team members on sanitation procedures, SSOPs, and best practices.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations teams to support plant goals and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Lead and standardize sanitation processes, cleaning practices, and sanitation programs across the facility.
  • Supervise sanitation personnel across four shifts while promoting a strong safety and food safety culture.
  • Support and maintain FSMA Preventive Controls, SQF requirements, Organic and Gluten-Free certifications, and pest control programs.
  • Monitor, verify, and validate sanitation activities to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance metrics, including sanitation audit scores and 5S programs.
  • Develop, maintain, and train employees on sanitation procedures, SSOPs, and plant sanitation requirements.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations teams to support SQF certification and achieve business objectives.
  • Provide leadership during food safety or sanitation deviations and drive corrective actions when risks are identified
