About The Position

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading the sanitation team and ensuring the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees sanitation schedules, employee training, inspections, documentation, and coordination with Production, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance to support safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience in sanitation within a food manufacturing or food processing environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, USDA/FDA, and OSHA regulations
  • Experience developing sanitation schedules and managing sanitation programs
  • Leadership, coaching, and employee training experience
  • Knowledge of sanitation chemicals, cleaning equipment, and safe handling procedures
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and compliance documentation
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and schedule the sanitation team to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently
  • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation plans
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, USDA/FDA, and OSHA regulations and company policies
  • Conduct inspections of production areas, equipment, and facility to verify cleanliness and sanitation effectiveness
  • Train, coach, and evaluate sanitation employees on proper cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate sanitation activities with Production, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance departments to minimize downtime
  • Monitor inventory of sanitation chemicals, cleaning supplies, and equipment; order replacements as needed
  • Investigate sanitation-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while enforcing company safety policies
  • Participate in food safety inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
