About The Position

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the employees performing sanitation tasks on their assigned shift and ensuring all sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) are implemented and followed in the facility. This supervisor will be responsible to train and coach employees to continuously improve the sanitation program. The role involves understanding the manufacturing operation and being able to perform and train employees on the proper disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of all equipment. The supervisor will regularly assess sanitation activities, participate in pre-operational inspections, and perform inspections of the plant, stored equipment, and environment to assess cleanliness, recommending changes as needed. A key responsibility is training all current and new employees in proper cleaning SSOPs, chemical use, and safety procedures, coaching them in proper techniques. The supervisor will also participate in the hiring/staffing of sanitation and quality personnel, coordinate and execute weekend and non-daily cleaning with cross-functional teams, and perform food safety and sanitation audits to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sanitation, quality functions or manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of sanitation and chemical titration
  • Understand chemical usage, chemical titration, and chemical safety
  • Ability to write and review SSOP’s, SOP’s, and Standard Work
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with company peers and Post Holdings partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - Listening and informing others effectively; excellent negotiating and influencing skills at all levels both internal and external.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction.
  • Must be a self-motivated self-starter.
  • Must possess the ability to always maintain external and internal confidentiality.

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Microbiology or Food Science preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day activities of employees performing sanitation tasks on their assigned shift.
  • Ensure all sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) are implemented and followed.
  • Train and coach employees to continuously improve the sanitation program.
  • Perform and train employees on the proper disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of all equipment.
  • Regularly assess sanitation activities to ensure proper cleaning of equipment and environment.
  • Participate in pre-operational inspection and train personnel doing pre-operational inspection to ensure uniform standards.
  • Perform inspections of plant, stored equipment, and environment to assess cleanliness and recommend changes.
  • Train all current and new employees in proper cleaning SSOPs, chemical use, and safety procedures.
  • Coach employees in proper techniques and follow through to ensure adequate understanding.
  • Participate in the hiring/staffing of sanitation and quality personnel.
  • Train all new personnel in the correct safety and cleaning methods.
  • Conduct required training for safety and procedure review.
  • Work with the Quality Supervisor to maintain a Master Sanitation Schedule for the entire facility and grounds.
  • Coordinate and execute weekend and non-daily cleaning with a cross-functional team of sanitation, production, and maintenance members.
  • Perform food safety and sanitation audits to ensure compliance with company, government, and customer specifications.
