Job Summary: The QA & Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all Quality Assurance and Sanitation functions within the unit. This role ensures full compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and company standards in a high-volume airline catering environment. The position plays a critical role in maintaining audit readiness, managing sanitation effectiveness, driving corrective actions, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a strong food safety culture across Production and Final Assembly operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • HACCP certification required or strongly preferred.
  • Food Safety certification required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or Sanitation within a high-volume food production or airline catering environment.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience required.
  • Experience handling customer and regulatory audits preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF standards
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication, cooperation and teamwork with all departments

  • Be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Must have the ability to give performance feedback to employees daily
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces sanitation regulations.

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise.
  • Will work with cleaning solutions, people-safe chemicals and related equipment to thoroughly clean and sanitize food service equipment and facilities.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, allergen control programs, and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor food safety controls across Production, Cold Kitchen, Hot Kitchen, and Final Assembly.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations for non-conformances, food safety incidents, customer complaints, and audit findings.
  • Develop and monitor corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
  • Track and report QA performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support and participate in internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure the unit always remains audit ready.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions for audit observations and regulatory findings.
  • Maintain all QA documentation, verification records, and compliance reports.
  • Deliver training and refresher programs on food safety, sanitation, GMPs, allergen control, and company policies.
  • Reinforce accountability and adherence to procedures across departments.
  • Promote a proactive food safety and sanitation culture within the unit.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Production, Final Assembly, Maintenance, and Operations teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise and coordinate all sanitation activities within the unit.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation standards, chemical usage guidelines, and cleaning schedules.
  • Conduct routine sanitation inspections of equipment, production areas, and facility infrastructure.
  • Verify sanitation effectiveness through inspections, documentation review, and validation processes.
  • Identify sanitation gaps and implement corrective measures.
  • Work closely with chemical vendors to ensure proper chemical dilution, application methods, and contact times.
  • Recommend improvements in cleaning processes, equipment layout, ventilation, and workflow to enhance sanitation performance.
  • Maintain sanitation logs, inspection records, and corrective action documentation.
  • Ensure all sanitation-related documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Supervise QA Technicians, sanitation staff, porters, and third-party cleaning contractors.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Conduct employee evaluations and coordinate corrective actions when required.
