About The Position

This position is in Cargill's Food Enterprise, which serves food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a range of ingredients and products including poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa, and chocolate. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for implementing the cleaning and sanitization of processing equipment, utensils, and the entire plant environment. This role involves developing and executing the sanitation program, striving for continuous improvement by analyzing performance metrics, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to meet safety and product quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with email, spreadsheet, word processing, and other software applications.
  • Minimum one year of directly related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of industry-related quality systems and inspection programs, cleaning systems, and chemicals
  • Knowledge of the sanitation process, cleaning chemistry, chemical storage, handling and dispensing systems, and sanitary design principles
  • One year of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, surfaces, utensils, and plant environment by providing direction, motivation, and technical support to sanitation employees.
  • Plan, engage, communicate, and provide direction on all sanitation-related activities within quality, safety, health, employee relations, operations, and maintenance programs.
  • Manage the master sanitation schedule by establishing priorities, scheduling, assigning work, and communicating with sanitation staff and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and execution of training and certifications to meet job requirements and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Measure and analyze sanitation performance metrics and lead weekly cross-functional sanitation meetings to review findings and assign corrective actions.
  • Update sanitation standard operating procedures and verify compliance by front-line employees.
  • Make personnel decisions regarding hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions for direct reports.
  • Complete the same tasks as employees on the team.
