About The Position

The Sanitation Supervisor (3rd shift) must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to: GMP, HACCP, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Blood borne Pathogens. Additional items will include: SSOP's, Chemical Handling, Listeria Policy, and Proper Shovel Handling. The Sanitation Supervisor will also complete additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility. The Sanitation Supervisor provides leadership to the Sanitation Leads, Coordinators, and crews in all areas of Sanitation. He/she ensures compliance to Fresh Express food safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • 3 years minimum experience in a Food Sanitation facility in a Leadership/Supervisory function.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and succeed in a team environment.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FSSC 22000 or equivalent system.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing sanitation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the activities of contracted sanitation personnel to ensure compliance to Fresh Express Sanitation standard.
  • Performs comprehensive evaluation of sanitation process and practices.
  • Evaluates and modifies SSOP's as required
  • Evaluates and modifies Master Sanitation Schedule as required.
  • Updates FSSC documentation as required (in accordance to FSSC procedures)
  • Reviews Sanitation/QA assessments and audits (pre-op inspection and swabs) of sanitation operations.
  • Manages Sanitation supplies and chemical inventories.
  • Leads team trainings and process improvement.
  • Provides Maintenance Manager with equipment damage report (if any).
  • Assists/coordinates in the training of proper/safe handling and usage of sanitation chemicals.
  • Attends pre-operational meeting with summary information of departmental issues or concerns.
  • Assists in Food Safety/HACCP/GMP and customer audits.
  • Performs other assignments as required and directed.
