About The Position

The Sanitation Lead assists the supervisor in effectively meeting daily departmental goals and requirements. This role ensures the coordination and execution of tasks and acts as a liaison between Team Members and supervisors, communicating goals, ensuring team members have clear direction and the necessary tools to perform their jobs safely and effectively.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform the Sanitation Laborer Training Checklist job tasks within expected training period.
  • Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to colleagues and management.
  • Must be able to safely operate scissor lift, forklift, hand jack, and other industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to read and understand the Sanitation SOP’s, manuals, and related documentation as written.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.
  • Must be able to tolerate heights up to 70 ft off the ground and move objects of 100 lbs. using mechanical device.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts of up to twelve (12) hour days including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Must be willing and able to move heavy objects (100 lbs) with mechanical device.
  • The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach as required in all areas.
  • The Team Member will be at heights up to 70 feet off the ground.
  • The Team Member will stand 8-10 hours on hard floors.
  • The Team Member will perform repetitive motions as required in many areas.
  • The Team Member will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme weather conditions.
  • The Team Member will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, known allergens such as soy, wheat, and milk.
  • The Team Member will be occasionally exposed to high precarious places; confined spaces, extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.
  • The Team Member will be regularly exposed to moving equipment and mechanical parts.
  • The Team Member will work in an environment where the noise level is usually loud and requires hearing protection.
  • The Team Member will consistently be walking/standing on concrete floors and exposed to wet/slippery surfaces for long/extended periods of time.
  • Team Members must be in current position for 90 days.
  • Team Members must have no suspensions or more than 3 written warnings within the past year.
  • Team Members with four (4) or more attendance points at the time of application will be disqualified from consideration.

  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Lockout/Tagout and Chemical Training within the first week; complete scissor lift and forklift training within the first two weeks.
  • Prepare work areas and teams for proper startup, shutdowns, and changeovers to ensure all sanitation processes are completed as required.
  • Complete required chemical training to understand requirements on dispensing and disposing of chemicals; understand MSDS and all safety requirements for storage, use, and proper disposal of all chemicals used.
  • Work with Team Members daily to provide guidance, direction, training, coaching, and tools necessary to complete required tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Lead department meetings and huddles to ensure team members are aware of expectations, informed of all safety/quality concerns or updates, HR news, issues with equipment, cleaning schedules, and other important communications affecting sanitation.
  • Perform daily inspections to ensure sanitation Team Members are following proper processes and that the sanitation of equipment and production areas meet or exceed quality and sanitation expectations.
  • Assemble/disassemble equipment and machinery to effectively sanitize and/or inspect equipment.
  • Respond to sanitation requests from production supervisors and Team Members as needed.
  • Monitor production and sanitation equipment and immediately notify supervisor of any maintenance/repair concerns.
  • Effectively communicate any performance/behavioral, quality, safety, or other issues and concerns to supervisor/manager in a timely manner.
  • Address all team members in a professional manner.
  • Complete paperwork, schedules, reports, and any other documentation in systems and/or on paper as required.
  • Notify Supervisor and/or QA of contamination concerns.
  • Follow company policies/procedures written or verbal.
  • Perform the Sanitation Laborer Training Checklist job tasks within the expected training period.
