The Operations Team is a matrix organization within the Company that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. We are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in Devault PA as a Sanitation line lead. The Sanitation Line Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating sanitation activities on assigned production lines to ensure all equipment and areas meet company and regulatory cleanliness standards. This position supports the Sanitation Supervisor by directing a team of sanitation technicians, maintaining compliance with SSOPs, and preparing lines for pre-operational inspections and production start-up.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or sanitation training preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment; leadership or lead experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of SSOPs, GMPs, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in wet, cold, and humid conditions and lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor sanitation tasks on assigned lines according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and SSOPs.
  • Coordinate dismantling, cleaning, rinsing, and sanitizing of all equipment and surrounding areas.
  • Verify proper chemical usage, concentration, and contact time are met.
  • Ensure lines are ready and released for QA pre-op inspections within the designated timeline.
  • Maintain compliance with company SSOPs, GMPs, SQF, and FDA regulations.
  • Assist QA during pre-op inspections and correct deficiencies promptly.
  • Perform ATP swabs for Pre-Op inspections
  • Perform environmental swabbing for environmental monitoring program
  • Prepare, label and send samples to 3rd party laboratories for testing
  • Act as the Back-up for Pre-Operations Technician
  • Report any equipment damage, food safety hazards, or foreign material concerns immediately.
  • Complete all required sanitation records accurately and on time.
  • Direct sanitation technicians during the shift and ensure assigned tasks are completed effectively.
  • Train and coach employees on proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
  • Communicate task priorities and expectations clearly to the team.
  • Serve as the first point of contact between sanitation and production teams during the shift.
  • Support process improvements related to cleaning efficiency, extended run validations, and foreign material prevention.
  • Provide feedback to the Sanitation Supervisor on equipment design, cleaning challenges, or time constraints.
  • Participate in root-cause investigations for sanitation-related non-conformances or audit findings.
  • Enforce compliance with PPE, LOTO, and chemical safety protocols.
  • Monitor team members for safe work practices and immediately report unsafe behaviors or incidents.
  • Ensure sanitation tools, formers, and hoses are maintained in safe working conditions.
