About The Position

The Sanitation Laborer follows established procedures to clean, rinse, foam, steam, and sanitize equipment, containers, and the Goldsboro facility. The employee must be open to working at the main facility or Distribution Center as needed. Procedures are documented in the Sanitation Standards of Operations Procedure book, kept in the supervisor’s office. The role includes cleaning assigned work areas in all areas of the facility, performing preoperational inspections and weekly ATP swabs, operating production equipment to facilitate cleaning, safely handling and mixing chemicals, and recording completed work. The employee also disposes of garbage, maintains drains, floor ways, recyclables, and the dumpster area, and follows safety rules and company policies. Other duties and participation in training, meetings, committees, or project teams may be assigned as appropriate.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Must be properly trained to handle chemicals.

Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned work areas as directed by the sanitation crew chief or supervisor, and perform cleaning duties in all areas.
Follow established procedures to clean, rinse, foam, steam, and sanitize equipment, containers, and the facility.
Dispose of garbage using a forklift; keep drains and floor ways clear; and maintain recyclables generated by the plant.
Perform daily preoperational inspections of assigned areas after cleaning.
Perform weekly ATP swabs and report the results.
Operate production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning.
Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals and equipment.
Measure and mix chemicals according to established procedures.
Record work performed on the Sanitation Schedule at the end of each workday.
Maintain the dumpster area in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow safety rules and company policies.
Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.
Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor or crew chief.
