About The Position

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Sanitation Laborer for the 2nd shift to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality across their poultry processing operations. This hands-on role involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment, production areas, and facilities to meet strict USDA, food safety, and company sanitation requirements. The position requires using cleaning tools and chemicals, following detailed sanitation procedures, and maintaining a safe, organized environment. It is a fast-paced role where reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are critical. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the plants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and apply common sense.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment with temperatures ranging from 10°F to 40°F.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Poultry, food industry, or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work areas according to USDA, food safety, and company sanitation standards.
  • Prepare, mix, and safely apply cleaning chemicals while following all PPE and safety requirements.
  • Inspect equipment and areas after sanitation to ensure proper cleanliness and report any issues or hazards promptly.
  • Maintain an organized, safe work environment by removing debris, rinsing surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of tools and chemicals.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete sanitation tasks efficiently and support a positive, safety-focused environment.
  • Follow detailed sanitation procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all safety, food safety, and biosecurity guidelines.
  • Perform additional sanitation duties as needed to support production readiness and meet operational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
