About The Position

This position monitors Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Clean In Place (CIP) systems, and Pest Control programs by working closely with the Sanitation Manager to ensure compliance. The associate will assist with internal audits, pathogen swabbing root cause, and corrective and preventive action. They will also assist when food safety issues arise and conduct and document assigned sanitation activities to ensure the facility and equipment are maintained properly. This role involves maintaining and receiving sanitation supplies, tools, and utensils, and conducting routine maintenance, preventive cleaning activities, and special cause cleaning activities. The associate will maintain facilities in accordance with government food safety and quality standards (for example, CHS and Good Manufacturing Practices) by conducting validation testing and product evaluations. They will provide input to the Sanitation Manager and Chemical Contractor to provide best chemical options for sanitation of the plant and collaborate with the FSQA team to ensure compliance with the Safe Quality Food Code Food Safety manual. The role requires following the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), food safety codes, and other applicable laws and requirements. Additionally, the associate must adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including using personal protective equipment, operating machinery and equipment safely, reporting any hazards, near misses, injuries or accidents immediately, and actively participating in safety trainings and drills. Maintaining cleanliness in work areas to prevent accidents and contributing to the continuous improvement of all safety protocols is essential. The associate must maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure personal safety, and the safety of others. Adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, including utilizing the Open Door Policy, is required. This includes completing work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
