About The Position

Under general supervision of the Public Works Director, Deputy Director, or Assistant Director, the Intern assists Public Works staff in performing tasks of average difficulty and responsibility and performs related tasks as required. The intern will perform skilled work in a broad range of activities including research, statistical analysis, writing, graphics, preparing primary and secondary reports from various information resources and other support duties. Working in a public municipality allows interns to test the concepts and computer skills learned in the classroom and applied in practice. This Sanitation Fund Internship program will provide invaluable preparation with hands-on experience in the daily operations of the Public Works Department with a focus on research, data aggregation and analysis.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a relevant academic program to test classroom concepts and computer skills.
• Ability to perform research, statistical analysis, writing, and graphics.
• Ability to prepare primary and secondary reports from various information resources.
• Willingness to gain hands-on experience in daily operations.
