Sanding Associate - MFG 11th Ave, Jasper, IN
About The Position
The Sanding Associate sands products to specifications using the Operational Method Sheet (OMS), appropriate tools, and proper-grit sandpaper. The role includes inspecting products for damage, color consistency, alignment, material specifications, and quality or workmanship compliance; documenting necessary information; maintaining a clean and organized workspace and equipment; and performing required preventive maintenance. The associate follows safety guidelines and uses required personal protective equipment (PPE), identifies nonconforming products and follows applicable procedures, supports process improvements and Kimball International’s policies and guiding principles, follows the Quality system, performs job rotation as directed, and supports the Environmental Management System (EMS).
Responsibilities
- Sand products to specifications according to the Operational Method Sheet (OMS), using appropriate tools and proper-grit sandpaper.
- Sand without creating scratches, dips, or tearouts.
- Inspect products for obvious damage, color consistency, alignment, material specifications, and other quality or workmanship standards.
- Document necessary information.
- Keep the workspace and equipment clean and well organized.
- Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment being used.
- Follow safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify nonconformities, follow nonconforming product procedures, and be aware of disposition authority.
- Implement process improvements.
- Support Kimball International’s Vision, Guiding Principles, and other policies.
- Follow and support the Quality system.
- Perform job rotation as directed.
- Support the Environmental Management System (EMS).
