About The Position
The Sander Worker is responsible for sanding products to specifications. The role involves using the appropriate tools and sandpaper grit, inspecting products for quality and compliance, maintaining equipment and work areas, following safety and quality procedures, and supporting company policies and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Sand products according to the Operational Method Sheet (OMS), using appropriate tools and proper grit sandpaper.
- Sand in a manner that avoids scratches, dips, and tearouts.
- Inspect products for obvious damage, color consistency, alignment, material specifications, and other quality or workmanship standards.
- Document necessary information.
- Keep the work space and equipment clean and well organized.
- Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment being used.
- Follow safety guidelines and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify nonconformities, follow nonconforming product procedures, and understand disposition authority.
- Implement process improvements.
- Support Kimball International’s Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies.
- Follow and support the Quality system.
- Perform job rotation as directed.
- Support the Environmental Management System (EMS).
