About The Position

The Sample Receiving Technician supports the Sample Receiving area as a lead and subject matter expert, helping ensure a smooth laboratory workflow for receiving and processing samples. The role also trains new Sample Receiving Technicians and answers technical questions. The position is based at 2057 Builders Place, Columbus, OH 43204, USA.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of laboratory experience, including knowledge of safety procedures and policies.
Proven data-entry and clerical skills.
Advanced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Associate degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience specific to Sample Receiving departments.
Client service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and training on Sample Receiving procedures, documentation, and department practices.
Discuss time-management improvements for the employee and department with a supervisor or manager.
Train new Sample Receiving Technicians in sample processing, receiving log-in procedures, computer-system entry, and shipping procedures.
Receive and log samples in the LIMS system; assist laboratory personnel with re-keying samples, retesting, correcting worksheets and work orders, and reprinting worksheets.
Contact internal and external clients by telephone regarding sample problems or follow-up questions.
Schedule laboratory assignments when a lead, supervisor, or manager is unavailable.
Ensure all samples are accounted for at the end of the day and follow up on identified issues.
Help track and monitor errors and ensure on-hold sample projects are followed up on and processed appropriately.
Create, investigate, and resolve a CCNC independently, seeking leadership advice when needed.
