About The Position

The Sample Coordinator performs sample and standard handling tasks in support of the laboratory, following established SOPs and responding to laboratory staff requests with minimal direction. The role assists laboratory staff with sample handling procedures and implements those procedures as needed. The position is scheduled for first shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in a laboratory setting.

Requirements

High school or secondary school diploma, or equivalent such as a GED, and at least 2 years of relevant experience; or an associate degree and 0 or more years of experience.
An equivalent combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience may be considered.
Basic knowledge of inventory flow and control.
Knowledge of laboratory and regulatory requirements, including documentation and sample storage.
Ability to write and review SOPs and process improvement outlines.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Effective time-management and project-management skills.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform sample and standard tasks, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, launching, inventory, transport, and check-out.
Participate in the physical return and disposal of materials in support of the laboratory.
Communicate sample and standard status to appropriate laboratory staff.
Guide and advise laboratory staff on sample and standard procedures.
Complete investigation and deviation forms as necessary and determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Review laboratory requests and provide feedback to ensure compliance with applicable SOPs.
Train on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements.
Respond to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities.
Complete work assignments accurately, promptly, and safely.
