About The Position

The Sample Coordinator/Lab Technician is responsible for receiving, inspecting, logging, organizing, and distributing incoming client samples to the New Jersey laboratory. The role tracks sample receipt and progress through laboratory testing, maintains accurate sample records and labeling, and communicates with clients and laboratory personnel about sample receipt and related issues. This full-time, temporary position is based within commuting distance of North Brunswick, New Jersey, and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Compensation is $25–$28 per hour, depending on related experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory testing environment.
• Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline.
• Ability to successfully pass a background and drug screen.
• Ability to multitask, work self-motivatedly, and take initiative.
• Adherence to ISO/GMP/USP standards and completion of necessary training modules.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Some literacy with Microsoft products.
• Use of standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, and scanners.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with a LIMS system is an advantage, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming product samples, verify them against client submission forms, and identify discrepancies.
• Log and categorize samples, create sample acknowledgement forms, and ensure samples are properly labeled and systematically tracked.
• Organize and securely store samples while keeping them accessible within the laboratory.
• Retrieve and distribute samples to the appropriate laboratory in response to internal sample requests.
• Communicate with clients regarding sample receipt and sample-related issues.
• Communicate with laboratories, sample coordinators, laboratory supervisors or managers, and/or the Site Director.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
