About The Position

The Salvage Yard Associate assists the crush operator in a salvage yard by removing additional cores or commodities from vehicles before crushing and cleaning up car parts and debris. The associate works on the ground alongside the loader and may occasionally operate it. The role requires remaining alert while working around the yard and following safety procedures. The position is at Midway UPull - Liberty, 1101 E. Old State Route 210, Liberty, MO 64068. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment.
Ability to collaborate across functions and share expertise with others.
Self-starter with the ability to meet timelines and schedules related to essential job functions.
Attention to detail and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to ambulate throughout the facility and salvage yard for most of the workday.
Ability to work continuously outdoors in changing weather conditions.
Ability to use both hands regularly with enough dexterity to operate basic hand and power tools safely.
Ability to lift, move, and carry objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

Sweep, shovel, and clean up debris in the yard.
Maintain clear pathways and a clean working environment for coworkers.
Clean up and appropriately sort car parts and debris resulting from vehicle crushing or movement in the yard.
Operate yard vehicles and heavy equipment to support other team members.
Assist the crush operator by removing additional cores or commodities from vehicles before crushing.
Contribute to improving yard processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
Follow safety protocols and remain alert to surroundings while working on the ground.
Perform other duties as assigned.
