About The Position

This is an entry-level sales position that supports the do-it-yourself (DIY) business and helps achieve sales and service objectives. The role requires knowledge of store systems, basic automotive systems and parts, store inventory, and maintenance processes, as well as the ability to source parts from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. Fleet safety certification is preferred. The position may be part-time or full-time. The Salesperson assists customers in person and by phone, provides DIY services such as battery installation and testing and wiper installation, maintains store and product standards, and supports inventory and general store operations. The role may also include delivering parts to customers. The job requires an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed and involves physical activity and exposure to conditions described in the posting.

Requirements

2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
Speak and write English; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
Use basic math accurately, including arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Have basic driving and navigation ability.
Be able to use a delivery board system.
Have friendly communication skills.
Be able to locate and stock parts.
Have safety knowledge and skills.
Be able to operate inventory systems and store equipment.
Have parts and automotive system knowledge and skills.
Be able to operate POS and parts lookup systems.
Have skills using testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Meet the physical demands of the job, including frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Fleet safety certification preferred.
Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide an excellent selling experience during DIY customer visits and phone calls.
Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales goals.
Provide DIY services, including battery installation and testing and wiper installation.
Maintain store product and operational standards.
Perform inventory processes, including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back-stock tasks.
Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back-stock tasks.
Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
