About The Position
The Salesperson is an entry-level sales position that supports the DIY business and helps achieve sales and service objectives. The role requires knowledge of store systems, basic automotive systems and parts, store inventory, and maintenance processes. The Salesperson must be able to source parts from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. The position may be part-time or full-time; the posting also states that the employee must be able to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed. Fleet safety certification is preferred.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
- Speak and write English; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use the delivery board system and operate inventory systems, store equipment, POS systems, parts lookup systems, and testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
- Ability to locate and stock parts; safety knowledge and skills; and parts and automotive system knowledge.
Nice To Haves
- Fleet safety certification preferred.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide an excellent selling experience to DIY customers in person and by phone.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales goals.
- Provide DIY services such as battery installation and testing and wiper installation.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Perform inventory processes, including truck put-away, shootouts, cycle counts, and back stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
- Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
